Muscle Response Testing is part of the NAET consultation.

An NAET consultation involves identifying potential allergies, sensitivities or intolerances through muscle testing.

A small glass vial is placed into the patient’s hand and if a weakness is detected in the muscle then there may be a sensitivity to that substance because it has weakened the body. If there is no weakness, there is probably no sensitivity.

The patient is tested for basic foods, vitamins and minerals and airborne substances such as dust, pollens and grasses etc. You don’t need to know what it is that is causing your symptoms, it may be identified through muscle testing.

Once the testing has been completed, treatment can begin. Treatment involves light stimulation of the nerve bundles down either side of the spine leading up to the brain, while the patient is in contact with the substance being treated. The stimulation, and message to the brain, changes the characteristics of the previous harmful stimulus into a new one with a different signal and next time contact is made with that substance there should be no reaction.

The initial consultation takes between 45 minutes to one hour, and follow up treatments are 30 minutes.

Often there are things other than allergies contributing to symptoms such as diet, lifestyle, stress etc and it may be necessary to have a naturopathic consultation in addition to allergy testing to ensure the most effective treatment and optimal health.
